Remember a little while ago I talked about my horrible Hydraluron Houdini problems? I have discovered a solution!

My first tube of Hydraluron lasted me a whopping seven months (again, I cannot recommend this stuff enough; a little goes a long way, as well as being incredibly effective), and now that I’ve moved on to my second, I’ve figured out a way to get around the messy-cap nightmare– and it’s incredibly simple, too. What is it?

Don’t remove the little foil piece attached to the tube when you open it.

Literally, that’s it:

Just smooth it back over the opening after you’ve used the product before putting the cap back on. See the cap? See how it’s not full of product? It’s a miracle! Usually, I’m the first person to rip the foil out of everything from beauty products to vegetable spread and Nutella, but in this instance, it’s definitely better to leave it intact. Yes, it’s a little fiddly and means an extra couple of seconds when you take the cap off and before you put it back on, but it’s so worth it.

I haven’t tested this for durability on an airplane yet, but as soon as I do, I’ll let you know. I can definitely say this stands up to regular upside-down bathroom storage, though.

Have you got any beauty product storage tips you’d like to share? Do you have any storage horror stories? Are you a Hydraluron fan? Drop me a line and let me know!
