OUTFIT OF THE DAY

My damn feet are still giving me style problems! Off to Dundrum in this one, so I needed something warmer for braving the frozen aisles of Tesco as well as injury-acceptable footwear. Not my best look, but I was really proud of the gold-themed eye makeup I teamed this with. I’m really getting good use out of my Urban Decay Naked 1 lately.

Vest: H&M
Leggings: Primark
Sandals: Ebay
Bag: Mulberry

I still love these leggings I got for a steal just before Christmas. They go with almost everything! I also really love this cute little Mulberry purse, although it definitely won’t be replacing my beloved Prada nylon number for an everyday bag. I really struggle to fit all my daily essentials into this one on account of its tininess.

How big is your everyday bag? Do you love a tidy, tiny bag like this one, or are you a card-carrying carryall fan? What makeup looks are you loving right now? Drop me a line and let me know!

OUTFIT OF THE DAY

My poor feet are still recovering, and I was off for a low-key day of shopping at The Park in Carrickmines with this one, so I’m going for a very casual outfit here:

ootd13 Sweater: Mulberry
Pants: Under Armor
Boots: UGG

You might recognise the sweater from a previous haul post from Kildare Village. I’ve been rocking this a lot lately, because it’s light enough for summer, but heavy enough to keep you warm when wind or showers move in! I love the weird little monster pattern, too– it’s so kitch and adorable.

What clothes are you loving lately? Have you discovered any great outlet finds? What do you wear when comfort is an extreme priority? Drop me a line and let me know!

OUTFIT OF THE DAY

Dinner out with Mummy and Aunties with this, finally wearing something I bought before Christmas and never got a chance to wear until now! Pretty happy with how this looked in person, although it didn’t photograph very well and I was running out the door when I was taking the picture, so I didn’t really have time to try to take a better one! Two looks for the price of one here, mostly because it looks so different with and without the coat.

T-Shirt: Primark
Shirt: Primark
Trousers: River Island
Shoes: Chloe
Jacket: Louise Kennedy
Bag: Mulberry
Scarf: Hermes
Necklace: Primark

Super happy that I got to wear my little shirt at last! It’s been languishing in my closet for about six months now; it deserved an outing, I think!

Do you wear your clothes as soon as you get them, or do you wait until the perfect moment? What’s waiting in your closet now waiting to be worn? Do you prefer this outfit with or without jacket and accessories? Drop me a line and let me know!

OUTFIT OF THE DAY

Another visit to Dundrum today to pick up some bits and pieces for a friend’s impending visit! Had to get some things to make sure her bedroom is cosy enough– I haven’t had anyone to stay with me in ages.

ootd-03 Sweater: Mulberry
Jeans: Tommy Hilfiger
T-Shirt: Dunnes
Scarf: Hermes
Boots: Ugg

This is the sweater that I picked up in Kildare Outlets a while ago, and the first time I’ve worn it. I absolutely love how it looks, but my god, I ought to have washed the damn thing before wearing it over a black t-shirt. There are little bits of grey fluff EVERYWHERE. A few minutes with the lint roller sorted out my problem and restored my t-shirt to (reasonable) good health, but there’s nothing that irks me more than clothes that put fluffies on other clothes…! It’s probably my own fault, since I’m prone to wearing warm, grey things –the guiltiest of culprits in this crime– but it’s still a right pain in the backside. I shall have to wash it alone and flush the washing machine afterwards to prevent it from happening again!

Are you plagued by fluff? Do you have any fluff-prevention techniques you’d like to share? Do you just not buy things that shed, or do you just not notice? Drop me a line and let me know!

OUTFIT OF THE DAY

Going for a Spring/Summer look here. I love this coat, and I definitely don’t wear it enough!

ootd-12 Coat: Principles
Outer T-Shirt:
M&S
Under T-Shirt: Oasis
Scarf: Hermes
Leggings: Dunnes
Boots: Uggs
Bag: Mulberry

I’m super fond of the combination of these bargain black/gold leggings I picked up before Christmas and this coat, and I actually got a compliment on it today!

What’s your favourite bargain purchase? Do you have clothes you don’t wear enough? What have you been wearing lately that’s made you feel good? Drop me a line and let me know!

OUTFIT OF THE DAY

Trying another gold-and-black thing today. Visited my the awesome Northern Contingent of my family, which means long car rides and then lunch at the Golf Club, so casually chic but comfortable is the order of the day! Can’t seem to stop wearing this little Mulberry bag I picked up a few weeks ago: it fits just enough for my daily needs (phone, keys, little bit of makeup), but is light enough that I don’t feel tired after wearing it. It goes really well with this scarf, too, because the scarf has leopards and there’s a little tiger on the bag (as you can see in the last photo here). I like to think of this one as kitty-inspired.

ootd21 Sweater: Aldi
Scarf: Hermes Sale (Paris)
T-Shirt: Oasis
Jeans: J Brand (House of Fraser)
Boots: Uggs (Brown Thomas)
Bag: Mulberry (Mulberry Outlets)

Have you ever developed a surprising affection for a purchase you weren’t certain you’d really love? Do you like secret “themes” in your outfits? Drop me a line and let me know!

OUTFIT OF THE DAY

Back with another OOTD, trying out some of my purchases from my recent Kildare Village Outlets splurge.

Jacket: Louise Kennedy (Louise Kennedy Outlet)
Scarf: Hermes (Brown Thomas)
Bag: Mulberry (Mulberry Outlets)
Sweater: Dunnes Stores
Necklace: Primark
Leggings: Primark
Boots: Uggs (Brown Thomas)

I’ve really been feeling the gold lately, so I was pretty happy with how this came out! I love these leggings, which I snapped up on sale in Primark before Christmas– €3! I’m a fiend for patterned leggings, so it was nice to grab a budget option since I usually have to go to McQ or Black Milk to get ones I like.

Do you have a new colour, pattern, or fabric you’re loving lately? Drop me a line and let me know!

KILDARE VILLAGE OUTLETS: SPENDING OVERLOAD

Someone take my credit card away from me. Cut it up, flush it, hide it under the bed, put it in your mammy’s bra– whatever you think will keep me from using it again for a while, will you? Because I’m just back from Kildare Village Shopping Outlet, and I’m pretty sure the damn thing is white-hot by this stage.

Kildare Village is an American-style outlet mall– if you’ve ever been to the glorious Woodbury Common in the States, you’ll know what I’m talking about, but unlike its American cousins, it doesn’t require you to get on a plane and then a bus for hours and hours. Instead, you can just hop on the M7 to get there, and if, like me, you live in the city, you can be there in under an hour. What you get for leaving the comforting borders of Dublin is lovely scenery and great shopping at hugely reduced prices. The last time I was there was a few years ago, and actually finding the place was a tiny bit of a nightmare, but now it’s incredibly simple: exit 13 off the M7, two roundabouts, and you literally cannot miss it.

You were already picturing this the minute I said “American-style outlet mall”, weren’t you?

While smaller than the ones in the States, it’s got a reasonably good selection of brands in a variety of categories, including homeware stuff like LeCruset and Villeroy and Bosch, sports brands like Nike and Reebok, and my favourite: great designers like Karen Millen, Louise Kennedy, All Saints, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, and their newest addition, Mulberry.
